University Zip + 4 Address Requests
A zip + 4 is a unique University of Oregon address assigned to an individual department categorized as level 3 and above or departments within College of Arts and Sciences who have lines of authority, approved by Budget and Resource Planning. This address is for use with USPS mail and USPS Amazon packages on Eugene’s campus only.

The purpose of a zip + 4 mailing address is for permanent use, even when a department physically moves to another building. This eliminates the hassle of USPS forwarding requests, the need to change your address with every entity who sends mail, updating webpages and making costly changes such as ordering new business cards, letterheads, envelopes, etc.

If your department falls in the criteria above and is in need of a zip + 4, please create a FASS Service Request by emailing fass@uoregon.edu. Exceptions are made in rare circumstances where there may be a division of a unit who will have a significant impact to operations and have a high volume of mail.

Because a zip + 4 address is assigned individually, it is not permitted to be shared with another department who may also inhabit the same space. This creates many problems down the line if departments sharing the same zip + 4 physically separate.

Additionally, departments are limited to one zip + 4 assigned address. If a department is spread across more than one physical location, Mail Services will deliver to one designated delivery location for the assigned zip + 4.

The 4 digit extension of the zip code is not the same four numbers as your university-assigned address. It is better not to include it, than to include an incorrect postal code. If you’d like to know what your 4 digit extension is, please visit https://tools.usps.com/zip-code-lookup.htm?byaddress and do a search of your zip + 4 address, leaving off the zip code.

Examples of the zip + 4 address format are shown below:

UO FASS
6233 University of Oregon

Once a university Zip + 4 address is assigned, it is the department’s responsibility to notify Mail Services of changes at least two weeks in advance. Examples include department name changes, a physical move to a new location, department dissolution, etc. This will ensure our published address list and route schedule is accurate.
