UO Addresses

In conjunction with the US Postal Service, Mail Services has developed the U of O address system for incoming mail. Each department on campus has a distinct mailing address that is different from its physical address and does not change, even in the case of a building move.

How to Address UO Mail

DEPARTMENT NAME
#### UNIVERSITY OF OREGON
EUGENE OR 97403*
Department Mailing Versus Physical Address
The university-assigned addresses are specific to each department. This prevents the department from needing to change its mailing address if its unit makes a physical move or separates from a shared office. Each department has a mailing address and a physical location address.

UO Addresses FAQ's

Q: Why are the mailing and physical addresses different?

A: The university-assigned addresses are specific to each department with a physical address and a designated mailing address that does not change. This way, departments do not need to update their mailing address if they move to a different building or separate from a shared office.

Q: Who manages the UO addresses?

A: Mail Services and USPS manage the UO addresses together, but Mail Services is the primary point of contact.

Q: What should I do if our department is moving?

A: Please notify Mail Services at least TWO WEEKS in advance if:

  • Your department is physically moving to another building (even if temporarily)
  • Your department name has changed

Early notification allows us sufficient time to adjust the delivery schedule and avoid service disruptions to your department.
