Welcome to Administrative Services

Administrative Services supports the University of Oregon by delivering strategic, efficient, and people-centered administrative services. We oversee multiple shared service teams across campus, ensuring departments have the tools, resources, and support they need to focus on their core missions. Part of the Finance and Administration portfolio, our division specializes in human resources, payroll, finance and purchasing, contracting, and specialized physical security and utility technologies. Whether through budget planning, recruitment, or security and access control, we help campus units thrive by aligning our services with their unique needs.

Why Shared Services?

Our model is designed to provide high-quality, unit-specific support without sacrificing consistency or efficiency. Unlike fully centralized services, our teams work directly with supported units, allowing for deeper understanding and faster, more responsive service. This structure improves communication, transparency, and decision-making for all involved.

Collaboration and Benchmarks

  • Service Partnership Agreements (SPAs) to define expectations and improve accountability
  • Key performance indicators and annual customer satisfaction surveys to track impact and service quality
  • Collaboration with central offices (e.g., Information Services, BAO, HR) to apply best practices across units

Service Priorities

  • Streamline operations and reduce redundancy across administrative functions
  • Deliver responsive, high-impact support to each department we serve
  • Promote data-informed decision-making through better financial reporting and executive dashboards
  • Foster a strong internal culture that supports learning, respect, and continuous improvement
  • Strengthen communication across all areas of the university
